Like all GFB lightweight pulleys, these begin life as a single 6061-T6 aluminium alloy billet, which is then precision CNC machined to exacting tolerances. We then anodize them black for a stealthy appearance and superior wear resistance.
This kit is supplied with 3 pulleys, not just for looks - the combined saving of 2.2 kg is significantly more than what is achieved by replacing just the crank pulley alone..
The weight doesn't tell the whole story either - even though the saving is a significant 77%, the actual rotating inertia reduction (inertia is what counts) is 83%.

GFB pulley kits are designed to improve acceleration by reducing the rotational mass (inertia) of the belt train. The effect is similar to a lighter flywheel, and the engine feels more lively and willing to rev.
We know that people are sometimes concerned about possible adverse effects of lightweight pulleys, but rest assured we have done our homework! It is true that some engine types do suffer harmonic issues from lightweight pulleys, and we steer clear of those. The kits we release are thoroughly application tested and do NOT cause engine damage in the short or long term.
