Billetworkz offers a variety of shapes to suit different preferences, but due to the oversized factory reverse lockout on these models, only the Short Teardrop shape achieves a perfect OEM fit without additional components. For other shapes such as Sphere, Lightbulb, Tall Teardrop, Piston, and Sledge, a Reverse Lockout Adaptor is recommended to ensure proper clearance and eliminate any gaps between the knob base and the lockout mechanism.

Construction & Design

The Billetworkz weighted shift knob is crafted from premium 304 stainless steel, known for its excellent corrosion resistance and durability. Each knob is CNC machined to exacting tolerances, ensuring a perfect fit and finish. After machining, the knobs undergo thorough cleaning before receiving a high-quality powdercoat finish in gloss yellow, providing a vibrant and resilient surface that stands up to daily use.

Laser engraving is used to permanently mark shift patterns and logos, guaranteeing that these details remain sharp and legible over time without fading or wearing off. The weighted design adds mass to the knob, which helps dampen shifting vibrations and allows for smoother gear changes.

Installation & Fitment

Installation is straightforward for most shapes, as the knob threads directly onto the factory shift lever with a standard M12x1.25 thread. However, due to the oversized factory reverse lockout on 2022+ BRZ and GR86 models, only the Short Teardrop shape achieves an OEM-style fit without modification. For other shapes, a Reverse Lockout Adaptor is recommended to ensure proper clearance and eliminate any gap between the knob base and the lockout mechanism.

This adaptor allows the knob to sit slightly higher, providing adequate reverse lockout clearance while maintaining a secure and precise fit. No permanent modifications to the vehicle are required, and the installation can typically be completed with basic hand tools in minutes.
