Key Features:
The aFe Magnum FLOW Pro 5R Air Filter incorporates advanced filtration technology and durable materials to maximize engine efficiency and longevity. Key features include:
Construction & Design:
The Pro 5R air filter is constructed with premium five-layer cotton gauze media that is pre-oiled to provide excellent filtration while allowing high airflow. The media’s progressive layering design ensures the filter maintains strong flow rates even as it collects dirt, making it suitable for both street and track environments.
The filter’s frame is molded from high-quality polyurethane, which resists degradation from heat cycles commonly experienced in engine bays. This material maintains its original shape and sealing properties over time, providing a reliable, long-lasting seal without the need for additional gaskets or adhesives.
The rounded pleat design increases the filter’s surface area, allowing it to trap more contaminants while minimizing airflow restriction. This thoughtful engineering results in a filter that balances protection and performance effectively.
Performance & Sound
By increasing airflow by up to 36% over the stock air filter, the aFe Magnum FLOW Pro 5R Air Filter helps improve throttle response and engine efficiency. Enhanced airflow can contribute to a more responsive driving experience, especially under demanding conditions such as spirited driving or track use. While primarily focused on filtration and flow, this upgrade may also subtly enhance engine induction sound, providing a more engaging auditory feedback without excessive noise.
Installation & Fitment:
Installation of the aFe Magnum FLOW Pro 5R Air Filter is straightforward and requires no modifications. The filter is designed to be a direct OE replacement for the factory air filter in the 2017–2020 Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ, and Toyota 86 models with the 2.0L H4 engine. Its pliable sealing surface conforms perfectly to the airbox, ensuring a secure fit and airtight seal every time. This makes installation quick and hassle-free, suitable for DIY enthusiasts and professionals alike.

ETA stands for Estimated Time of Arrival. The date shown is calculated using our Available-to-Promise (ATP) system, which tracks real-time supplier commitments to determine when a product is expected to be available for delivery. Specifically, the date is calculated by adding 9 business days from the date a supplier has committed to ship the product, representing a worst-case scenario for when we can expect to receive inventory.
Please note: The ETA is an estimate, not a guarantee. While we work closely with our suppliers to keep dates as accurate as possible, delays due to shipping carriers, weather, customs, or supplier-side issues may occasionally push the actual arrival beyond the date shown. Likewise, inventory may arrive sooner than the ETA in many cases. If you would like to be notified for when this item arrives, sign up for our back in stock notifications!
